1. Summary
Saftera does not collect personal information through the app. The app does not require an account, does not show third-party advertising, does not sell personal data, and does not use personal data for targeted advertising.
Emergency and field information, including precise location, route recordings, emergency contact details, rescue card information, journal entries, sensor readings, camera access for the flashlight, and translation text, is processed on your device for the feature you use. Saftera does not receive this information unless you choose to share it outside the app.
Limited technical information may be processed when you download map packages, open this website, or contact support. For example, infrastructure providers may process standard network logs, and your email address is visible if you send us an email.
In this policy, "collect" means data is transmitted off your device in a way that allows Saftera or a third party to access it beyond what is needed for real-time delivery of a request. Data that stays on your device for local app features is not treated as collected by Saftera.
2. What Saftera does not collect
Saftera does not collect the following information from the app:
- Precise location history or saved route recordings.
- Emergency contact details, rescue card details, or journal entries.
- Camera images, video, audio, or microphone recordings.
- Translation input or translated output text.
- Compass, level, barometer, or other sensor readings.
- Contacts, photos, files outside Saftera, calendar data, or call logs.
- Advertising ID, third-party advertising data, or data broker data.
- Analytics events or crash reports sent to Saftera.
3. Local processing and limited network data

5. Retention and deletion
Information stored locally in the app remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app data through the operating system, or uninstall Saftera.
Because local field data is not collected by Saftera, we do not have a server copy of your location records, route recordings, emergency contact details, rescue card information, journal entries, camera content, sensor readings, or translation text.
Map delivery logs and security logs are retained only as needed for reliability, abuse prevention, security, debugging, legal compliance, and business records. We generally aim to keep operational logs for no longer than 90 days unless a longer period is required for security, legal, or operational reasons.
Support and privacy request messages may be retained as long as needed to respond, keep business records, and comply with legal obligations.
7. Your choices and controls
You can allow, deny, or revoke permissions in your device settings. You can choose not to enter emergency contact, rescue card, or journal information. You can delete local data through in-app features, operating system storage controls, or by uninstalling the app.
If you email us, you can request that we delete support correspondence where legally and operationally possible.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by Saftera. No app, device, or internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. Children
Saftera is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Saftera, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
9. International use
Saftera may be used in multiple countries. Service providers that help operate map downloads, hosting, support, and email may process information in countries other than your own.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, legal requirements, or our practices change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated.
